Get real! Give a member of a band a pair of decks and a mixer and they'd probably snort them. They don't simply find beats on the internet and make everything on a computer! This is what the use in their production set up to produce their songs. I think you'll find the likes of these "supastardeejays" such as Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Fedde Le Grand or even Basshunter himself are very qualified and able to play the Bass, Guitar, Keyboard etc. Give one of these supastardeejays a guitar and all they would do is put it on a deck or snort it. It's brainless and midn numbing, and surely the easiest profession in the world. I don't think dance music can ever be classed as "fantastic." Personally I prefer rock, metal but I am open to most types of music and my last 10ish Napster downloads have all been "dance" Radio 1 is quite right if they don't want to play a record number 1 or not.Joe Dolce anyone? Sorry I can't remember the name of that bigish song that Scooter COVERED but it certainly aint new music. 5 Weeks now at the top, fantastic and its been a big hit all over Europe. I think that Moyles may have unwittingly helped to promote the song further with his chuff parody. Its just shows how out of date he is becoming with his audience. The song is target to the 15-24's unlike Moyles who is well past his sell by date. but then you look at the stuff they class as "great" and aim to mass expose and then you realise why they criticise it!Īsk any working DJ in a commercial venue (and I have plenty of friends who have this job), and they cannot put the song down!!īasshunter is a fantastic record and the Moyles parody is an insult to the song and its fans. People on the radio that play it all criticise it - Moyles, Fearne Cotton, Lucio from Hit40 etc. It fills dancefloors up and down the country every weekend - and that's millions of clubgoers! The only people who class it as embarrasing are the sort that don't get out much or prefer a more contemporary mix of tunezzzzzzzz

I very much doubt Basshunter will be remembered as an embarrasing song in years to come.

How ridiculous not to play the UK's number One and its right that now the station reflects the charts and its target audience that its supposed to represent.įunnily enough, they only decided to playlist the track 4 days before it was heading to number 1 - and that was only because it was outselling everyone else massively in the midweek charts so hence it was heading to number 1. Have they got a new head of music? Whatever that has happened it is most welcome, as now they play more variety of songs and don't leave out songs, which is only right.

I suppose we ought to be greatful that Radio 1 have playlisted the song at all, as a few years ago they wouldn't have playlisted lots of songs (dance or otherwise) that turned out to be massive number ones.
